How to calculate WATER bill:

Minimum meter charge of $38.18 plus $2.37 per hundred cubic feet in excess of minimum usage.  Rate drops to $1.75 per hundred cubic feet for usage in excess of 5,000 cubic feet. 

Flat rate water is $75.00 per unit.

• 3-month bill includes first 800 cubic feet of water
• 2-month bill includes first 600 cubic feet of water
• 1-month bill includes first 300 cubic feet of water

How to calculate SEWER bill:

Minimum meter charge of $31.56 plus $5.26 per hundred cubic feet based on water usage. 

Flat rate sewer is $42.50 per unit.

• 3-month bill includes first 600 cubic feet of water → Minimum bill = $31.56
• 2-month bill includes first 400 cubic feet of water → Minimum bill = $21.04
• 1-month bill includes first 200 cubic feet of water → Minimum bill = $10.52

A 2% penalty is added to unpaid bills 30 days after the billing date.  An additional 10% penalty is added 60 days after the billing date to unpaid bills.  Termination notices are also sent out for accounts that are unpaid 60 days from the bill date.  Also, unpaid charges, if not paid by October 31, will be added to the Town taxes and an additional fee will be assessed.

Capital Charges

A water capital charge and a wastewater collection system capital charge will be levied and collected quarterly from a time to be determined by the Town Board. The amount levied and collected will be the amount the Town is obligated to pay for the principal and interest on its outstanding water and wastewater collection system bonds. The water capiptal charge will be established by the Town Board on an annual basis and the charge will be in accordance with the classifications of units set forth in Town Law §143-3B (water units) and Town Law §139-2B (sewer units).

In addition to the above bonds, all users of the municipal wastewater treatment facility and collection system, including tax-exempt properties, must pay wastewater collection system capital charges and wastewater collection system rent charges.
