Dog License

New York State requires that all dogs four (4) months or older must be licensed and renewed annually.  Violators can be cited with a violation, in addition to, court costs.  To license your dog, you must bring with you a copy of their current rabies certificate along with proof of the dog having been spayed or neutered (only if the dog has been spayed or neutered).  All dogs moving into the Town should apply for a license within one month of relocating.

Renewal notices will be sent out, however; if you move out of the Town, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office to have the dog’s information updated to reflect the status change.  The Town Clerk’s Office issues dog licenses under the authority of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
